Work and moving to Gwydir Country

Stable jobs cluster in Warialda and Bingara: Gwydir Shire Council, health/aged care, schools, retail and trades. Outside town, grain, cattle, feedlots and contracting dominate — seasonal and weather-dependent.

Start with the council careers page, local Facebook community groups (verify admins), and national job boards filtered to Warialda/Bingara/Inverell. Visit stores and clubs in person if you are already on the ground. Coolatai itself has few paid roles beyond hospitality peaks around tractor pull and campdraft.

Housing is tight in small villages; expect to look in Warialda or Bingara first. Never pay strangers “bond holding fees” for jobs.
