Bingara is the shire’s other main service town (with Warialda): river walks, fossicking, Batterham Lookout sunsets, The Living Classroom food-garden campus, and the restored Art Deco Roxy Theatre with Greek café museum. Pubs, bakehouse, riverside camping and the Visitor Information Centre on Maitland Street make it a strong base for southern Gwydir loops. Myall Creek Memorial is about 23 km out via Delungra Road — an essential, respectful history visit.
